Easy Clematis Choices

Introduction

Known as "Queen of the Climbers," these vigorous, long-lived vines thrive in full sun.  They also need cool shaded roots, and moist, well-drained soil. And a sturdy trellis for support.

Here are our customers’ favorites.

Four Main Groups

Early spring bloomers - flowering on old wood; prune lightly after blooming if needed.

Large-flowered hybrids - blooming in early summer on old wood.

Late summer bloomers - that bloom on new wood; cut back hard in early spring

Fall bloomers - that bloom on new wood; cut back hard in early spring
